Spring Candle Making

Ingredients

Steps:

  1. Clean out old Candle Jars

  2. Boil water and place a mason jar in the water for a double boiler setup.

  3. Fill the Mason jar with enough wax to fill the containers you plan to use for the candles.

  4. Let the water boil and the wax will start to melt.

  5. Once the wax has fully melted, take the temperature with a laser thermometer. The temperature should be 185 degrees when you add the fragrance.

  6. The Fragrance should be added at 8%. I use my scale to weigh the wax and multiply by 0.08 to get the amount of fragrance. It should be in ounces.

  7. After adding the oil, continue stirring for about 2 minutes and let the wax cool to about 140 degrees.

  8. While the wax is cooling, Use the Hot glue gun to glue the wick to the bottom of the jar. Make sure it is centered.

  9. Once the wax is at temperature, pour it into the jars!

  10. Let the candle cure for 2 weeks. This will help the fragrance.

  11. When you burn the candle for the first time, burn for 30 minutes.
